30 Day pics and Measurements

Ok I promise I will update this post with measurements later, but I don't have them with me now, but I do have the pics.

It has been a while since my last post!!

I am back and in full force. This summer got busy, but it doesn't mean that I gave up on my fitness goals. I continued running and some Insanity when I could until after my summer trips were completed. I did some terrible eating, and gained a few lbs, but I am back on the bandwagon now with full force.

I am now doing p90x and Insanity 3 days a week on top of that. I am just starting Phase 2 of p90x this week, and I will post my phase one results and pictures a bit later. In less than 2 weeks I will start the 18 week marathon training schedule, on top of p90x. I will drop the Insanity at this point, because that's just too much to keep up with. I am really nervous, but I hope that I can reach all of my fitness goals, and being able to say that I have completed a marathon is a huge goal of mine. I really want to complete p90x also, and if the running gets in the way of that I will scale back to the half marathon training which doesn't overlap very much with my p90x schedule (just the last recovery week).

Done!!! Final Results!!!!

I am so proud of myself for completing this program!!! I have improved by leaps and bounds in 2 months. This was probably the toughest workout program I have ever done, and I can definitely see the results.

I was starting to get discouraged by the fact that I lost almost 7 lbs in the first 5 weeks, and gained 1 lb in month 2, but the before and after pictures speak for themselves. Just because I wasn't losing weight doesn't mean I wasn't losing fat and gaining muscle. I am so excited to share my results.

Here are my final fit test results (month 1 is in parenthesis):
Switch kicks: (47) 59
Power Jacks: (43) 65
Power Knees: (81) 106
Power Jumps: (26) 45
Globe Jumps: (9) 11
Suicide Jumps: (9) 21
Push-up Jacks: (9) 30
Low Plank Oblique: (30) 65

My before and after measurements and weight(before is in parenthesis):
Height: 5'4"
Weight: (153.8) 148.0
Arms: (11.75) 11
Chest: (36) 34.25
Waist: (31.5) 30
Hips: (40) 37.75
Legs: (23.5) 22.75

And here are the pics. I can definitely see the difference in the before and after.

Day 61 - Almost There

Good bye Max Interval Plyo. I think this is my least favorite workout. Of course I will still incorporate it into my post insanity routine, because I hate it because it hurts!! And if it hurts it is working me hard. The pushups are what gets me in this one.

2 more days to go until I complete my 2 months of Insanity. Stay tuned for after measurements and before and after pictures. I am excited!

Day 60- Done!! Just 3 more days to go!!!

Today was Max Interval Sports Training. I love love love this workout!! I think it is my favorite. It is tough, but fun. I can't believe I only have 3 days left of my 2 months of insanity.

Day 59 - Max Interval Circuit for the last time

Well not really for the last time, because I will continue with the month 2 videos 4 days a week, after a much needed week off.

It is getting harder and harder each day. I am more sore this week than I was the first week of month 2. I am putting everything I have into this so that I can finish up this week. I can't wait to take after pictures and measurements on sunday though!!! Stay tuned for the after pics!!

Day 58- Half done

There just isn't enough time in the mornings to do Max Cardio conditioning and Insane Abs, so I still have Insane abs to do tonight.

At one point in the video Shaun T tells you that this isn't a game. I would love to smack anyone who thinks it is, because I am dying and he is fussing about this not being a game. I always get confused when he says that, could anyone possibly confuse Insanity with a game, I think not. LOL!!

My body is achy and tired. I am looking forward to completing this week and then giving my body a much needed week break from the Insanity. I plan to do the 3 day shakeology cleanse, the Turbofire stretch 40 on cleanse days, and run the rest of the week.

Day 57 - Last week begins

I am very discouraged right now. Everyone said that month 2 was when you start to really see the results. I will take measurements again on Sunday once I complete the program, but the scale is really starting to tick me off. For the last 3 weeks I have hovered around 147, and I have been so frustrated that I can't lose weight no matter what I do. But this morning when I stepped on the scale I weighed 148. It was everything I could do not to cry. But I got up, and I pushed play, and I fought through the tears to do Max Interval Plyo.

On my way to work this morning, I started thinking that it is time to reevaluate my diet. I am not doing anything that I wasn't doing in month 1 so I am confused. I lost 7 lbs in month 1 and so far in month 2 I have gained 1. I know I am building muscle, but I should also be losing some weight with these killer long workouts.

I am trying to stay positive, and I am hoping and praying that the final measurements and the after pictures will show a difference. 6 days to go, I can do this.

Month 2 Week 3 Complete!!!

This has been a rough week. I over did it with exercise this past weekend, and everything has been a little harder this week. I vow that I will actually let myself have my off day this week. I really need to let my body recover from this rough week.

Yesterday I did Max Interval Circuit, and I like that one, but it always kicks my butt. Today I did Max Interval Sports Training, which is awesome. It was tough, and I was glad it was over, but I think that is one of my favorite workouts.

In the beginning, I didn't think I would survive 60 days, and now that I am almost there, I don't think I can live without my Insanity. Crazy right? It's like the hardest workout you will ever love!!! LOL!!!!!

Days 52 & 53

I didn't post yesterday, because my day just got to crazy. Yesterday was Max Cardio Circuit and Insane Abs. I am already getting up at 4:45am to get in the Max workouts, and Insane abs is 33 minutes long in addition to that, and I just wasn't willing to get up any earlier, so I did Max Cardio in the morning, and Insane abs after the kids went to bed last night. I got it done. I will be honest with you I always thought that some of the moves in the ab videos were harder on my legs because they were tired from doing a workout directly before the ab workout, but that was not true. Turns out my legs felt just as heavy and hurt just as much doing the ab workout independantly.

There is one exercise in Insane abs that involves balancing on one arm and one leg in the plank position while lifting the other arm and leg, and I can't do that to save my life, so I just held the plank position during that exercise, which was still killer on the abs!!!

Today was Max Recovery. I hate the recovery videos, they seem to move so slowly. It is a killer workout, just not as much jumping. I did look on my calendar and I saw that this is the last day I have to do the max recovery. Yay!!! Next week it is substituted with the Max Interval Sports Training, which is a little more fun.

By the way, today is day 53 of 63 days of Insanity. I can't believe I only have 10 days left. I think my plan after those 10 days are up, is to do the 3 day shakeology cleanse, and then repeat month 2, which should bring me to my vacation. What will I do after that? I am not sure yet!

Day 51 - Max Interval Plyo

Well, although I stand by the fact that this is my least favorite Max video, I was so happy that I only had to do one video today. I really pushed myself hard, maybe a little to hard this weekend, with adding the running and turbofire, and with the fit test back to back with the Max workout yesterday, and I am sore.

I also used the last of my recovery formula, and I won't get my new container until the end of the week. Ahhh, how am I going to survive these workouts without it? That stuff really does help, with my energy levels post workout, and I am less sore when I use it. I will survive I guess.

Day 50 - Fit test and max interval circuit, and the weekend

Saturday I did the Max Interval sports training from the deluxe pack. It was a series of sports intervals (boxing, football, basketball, gymnastics, and track). I was for the most part able to keep up with it, thanks to quite a few breaks between exercises but there were some parts that I struggled to keep up with. It was intense, not as much jumping as the rest of the max workouts. Definitely tougher than the Core cardio and balance that it replaced. I am glad that I got the deluxe dvds, this one and Insane abs are killer.

Saturday I ended up eating some frozen yogurt that my mom bought for my 16 month old who was asleep in the stroller by the time she got to her with the yogurt, and I felt terribly guilty, so I decided to punish myself for it. Saturday night I did TurboFire HIIT 30. It was tough, but it was fun at the same time. Not as tough as insanity, but I didn't really expect it to be. Great workout, I really enjoyed it.

Sunday morning I got up early (on my day off), because I wasn't done torturing myself, and I ran 4 miles. I had good intentions of doing my Insanity fit test sunday night, but I was to tired from the day, so I decided I would suck it up and combine them in the morning.

I took new measurements, and I weighed in this morning. I am 147.2 lbs, and frustrated at the number on the scale.

Chest - 35.25 inches (same as 3 weeks ago, total loss of 0.75 since day 1)
Waist - 30 inches (loss of 1.5 inches since day 1)
Hips - 38.25 inches (same as 3 weeks ago, loss of 1.75 inches total since day 1)
Arms - 11 inches (gain 0.25 inches in 3 weeks, loss of 0.75 since day 1. My only explanation of this is that Month 2 has an insane amount of pushups and I must be building up muscle in my arms, they are getting more muscular, but still flabby too.)
Legs - 23 inches (loss of 0.5 inches in my legs, woohoo finally a loss in my legs)

That brings me to the torture of today. I pushed hard through the fit test, and I didn't think I was going to even make it through the warm up of Max interval circuit. It took everything I had to finish today. I also ended up on the floor with no desire to move, then my kids woke up to remind me that not moving wasn't an option. LOL!

Here are my fit test results (the fit test is the maximum number of these exercises that you can do in a minute):

day 1/day 15/day 36/day 50
Switch kicks - 47/49/52/57
Power Jacks - 43/52/58/63
Power Knees - 81/89/96/103
Power Jumps - 26/29/27/40
Globe Jumps - 7/8/9/10
Suicide Jumps - 9/13/15/19
Push-up Jacks - 9/17/23/25
Low Plank Oblique - 30/39/52/57

I am pretty proud of my fit test results!

Day 47 - Max Cardio and Insane Abs

Well Max Cardio always Kicks my butt, but today was the day I added Insane Abs into the mix. Thankfully I didn't have to work today, because that was crazy long. Insane abs was torture. But I have learned to expect torture with this workout, the crazy thing about it is that after it is all done I am always so glad that I did it.

I am thinking that in the future I am going to do the Max cardio in the mornings before work and throw in the Insane abs in the evening. I was also thinking about upping the insane abs to 3 times a week, in the evenings after the kids go to bed. My stomach needs the most work, I have to make it look like it did before I had kids.

Tomorrow I get to try out another new video from my deluxe pack!! I am a little nervous.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Day 46 - Max Recovery

I have a love/hate relationship with this dvd. By the time today rolled around I was so happy for a slower paced workout with out all of the jumping. But the workout is still killer. Last week my lower abs were so sore from this workout, and I love that feeling, because my abs need the most work!!!

I am looking forward to trying Insane abs tomorrow after my max cardio dvd. I have heard it is crazy. And I may be crazy but I am considering adding in the Insane abs 3 nights a week, but I guess I should wait and see how tomorrow goes!!!

Day 45 - Max Interval Plyo

Oh, this workout kicks my butt every single time. My goal everytime is to crush it, and I think I am doing a little bit better. I will be honest though, I am looking forward to the slower pace of the recovery workout tomorrow.

I tried drinking the recovery formula toward the end of my workout when I felt myself running out of steam, and that did not go over so well. It was instant nausea, I just couldn't handle anything but water during the workout, so I guess I just need to power through the last bit, even though I feel like I am running out of energy. Dig Deeper!!!!!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Day 44 - Max Interval Circuit

Insanity is still kicking my butt. I did great through the first 2 series of exercises, but that third series I was really feeling like my tank was empty, and I just couldn't push anymore. By this time Shaun T was saying something about drinking your recovery formula if you need it. I usually drink it first thing after a workout, but I am wondering if on the days of these hour long workouts if I shouldn't have that with me also, right next to my water. I think I may try that tomorrow and see if that helps with that I don't have any more energy to push through feeling.

Day 43- Max Cardio Conditioning

I am not a huge fan of this video or at least not today. I woke up with an upset stomach, but I am a trooper, and it takes more than that to keep me down. I powered through, and I made it through. It was tough today though. Every muscle in my body is a little bit sore, and I was really feeling it in my legs during the workout this morning.

Yesterday I couldn't hold back any longer, I had to give Turbofire a try. I did the fire 30 video, and it was pretty good. It's not insanity, but I liked it. It would have been better if I had discovered the new to class option before I did the video, but I still did ok considering I didn't know the moves before I started.

I weighed in this morning at 147.6, which is exactly where I was last week. I am a little bit disappointed, but I keep telling myself that I am building muscle, and I know that because of the soreness in all of my muscles. My body is trying to adapt to the intensity of Month 2, and once it does the weight loss will come, I hope!!!

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Day 41 - Max Interval Plyo

They should really call this one kill me with push-ups. It was crazy tough, but I made it through. I think that this video is going to be the one I struggle most with in Month 2.

I survived the first week of Month 2!!! I am so proud of myself so far. I am going to hold off on measurements until next week, with my fit test, but I will weigh in on Monday morning. I have to say that today I am wearing a pair of shorts that didn't fit 6 weeks ago when I started insanity, and today I tried them on and they are actually lose in the waist. That is such a great feeling.

Friday, June 25, 2010

Day 40 - Max Interval Circuit

I handled this workout much better than I did the first time. My muscles were tired by the third series of exercises, and I am guessing that my body has just adapted to the month one, and with this longer video I need to build up my stamina. But I am very impressed with my improvement!!

And my abs are so sore from yesterday's Max Recovery. I love this feeling. Not so sore that I can't function, but I know I really worked it when I can feel the burn!! LOL!!!!!

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Day 39 - Max Recovery

Wow, I can't believe I am almost 40 days into this. Well that was one serious recovery video. Nothing was high intensity, but it is still one tough workout, just less jumping today. I love this workout, it is a bit addicting!!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Day 38 - Max Cardio Conditioning

This workout kinda reminds me of Pure Cardio from month one, just longer. I have to say, that although he didn't give me any water breaks for 34 minutes of this video, I am so glad that the workout was broken up into 3 or 4 minute chunks, instead of in pure cardio where they just put 15 minutes on the screen. I do well when I only have to focus on the time in 3 or 4 minute chunks. After the stretching portion in the beginning, I told myself that if 30 minutes pops up on that little timer, I am going to die, but thankfully for me they broke it up, just with no rest breaks in between.

This was a tough workout, and there were a few times that I had to take water breaks, but that's ok, I did my best. And I know from experience with month 1 that each time I do these videos, I will get a little bit better!!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Day 37 - Max Interval Plyo

The day I have been dreading. I know how much the Plyometric video kicked my butt in Month 1 and I was scared of this one, and ritefully so. This was tough, very tough. We did so many different types of push-ups, Squat push-ups, power push-ups, balance push-ups, and of course the fun level 3 drills, which are drop down do 16 push-ups followed by 16 floor sprints, and then jump up and repeat, and these are done in 3 consectutive sets for a grand total of 96 push-ups with just the level 3 drills. Ouch!!

I feel good though, and I am proud of myself for making it this far. I think what I love about these videos is Shaun T really seems to care, and I love that he makes a point to tell you not to keep up with him if you can't, to just do your personal best, because that is really what it is all about.

In all the excitement of starting the Max workouts yesterday, I actually forgot to weigh myself before I got started. Yesterday when I put my pants on, something crazy happened, they were looser than they were last week, so I just knew that number on the scale was going to be less. I just knew that this was going to be the week I broke 150. I stepped on the scale and I almost jumped for joy when it said 147.6!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!! That is a grand total of 6.2 lbs in 5 weeks of Insanity, and everyone says that Month 2 is where you start to see the real results. I say bring it on!!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Day 36 - Fit Test and Max Interval Circuit

I did my fit test yesterday morning, and after doing today's workout I am so glad that I did. There is no way I would have been able to do those two back to back. Here are my fit test results:

Day1/Day 15/Day 35
Switch Kicks: 47/49/52 ( I have the hardest time with these, but I feel like my form is much better and my legs are getting higher, even though my numbers aren't dramatically improved)
Power Jacks: 43/52/58
Power Knees: 81/89/96
Power Jumps: 26/29/37
Globe Jumps: 7/8/9
Suicide Jumps: 9/13/15
Push-up Jacks: 9/17/23
Low Plank Obliques: 30/39/52

Today, was the first day of Month 2. Through half of the video, I thought I was going to vomit. I had to take a few breaks to keep my stomach from revolting on me. At one point I was almost crying, "why are you doing this to me!" But I survived, and what doesn't kill me will make me stronger. The plus side is that this fast paced video made that hour pass by really quickly!!! I would be surprised my entire body isn't so sore I can barely move it by the end of the week. This feels like week 1 on Crack!!! LOL!!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Day 32- Core Cardio and Balance Day 4

Same old thing. My shoulders are a little sore, but at this point, although I am not bored with this workout like I thought I would be by this point, I am ready for this week to be over. I am ready to start something different. Bring on Month 2!!!

I probably won't be blogging the rest of this week. There just isn't much more I can say about doing the same workout again on days 5 and 6.

I have been thinking hard about this and I decided that I am going to do the fit test on sunday instead of monday morning. My logic is this, one of two things will happen if I do the fit test before my first Max video, one, I will give the fit test my all, and then run out of fuel for the Max video which I am sure will kick my butt all on its own, or two, because I want to have something left for my Max video, I won't give my fit test my all, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of doing the fit test at all. So I am moving it to my off day.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Day 31 - Core Cardio and Balance day 3

I am surprised to say that I am not totally bored with this yet. The problem that I am having is that I don't feel like I am exerting enough energy to keep me from getting too antsy later in the day. I keep wanting to add on, and then I keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be the recovery week, and I am not supposed to be killing myself. Shaun T will do that for me next week.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Day 30 - Core Cardio and Balance day 2

I so far don't mind this workout too much. I am surprised that I am a little bit sore from it. I did workout yesterday without my knee brace (bad girl, shame on me), and I paid for that in the middle of the night I was up for an hour with knee pain, but also pain in my quads. I wasn't expecting to be sore this week. After the Advil kicked in I was back to bed, and this morning I played it smart and put the knee brace on.

I feel surprisingly good for someone who was up in the middle of the night. I am still betting by the end of the week I will be really bored with this workout. It is faster pace than the cardio recovery, but still slower than the rest of the month 1 videos and it feels like it lasts longer because of the slower pace.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Day 29 - Core Cardio and Balance

Day 1 of core cardio and balance wasn't bad. Not as fast paced as the rest of the workouts, but this is Insanity, so rest assured it is still a good workout. I feel good and not like I killed myself today. I had been debating whether or not I was going to try to add on to these workouts or not. I decided that I think I am going to do my Cardio abs a couple times this week but beyond that I am going to let myself recover for fear of what month 2 has in store for me.

I weighed in this morning. I am at 150.2 lbs, and it is killing me to be so close to being under 150, but I know it will come in month 2. That is still a loss of 0.4 lbs, for a total loss of 3.6 lbs in month 1, which is not too bad considering I have been hearing that the majority of the results are in month 2.

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Day 28 - rest day and the end of Month One

Yesterday I did Plyometric Cardio Circuit for the last time. Month one is officially complete. I am honestly not looking forward to this recovery week, 6 days of the same workout sounds boring!!

This morning I woke up bright and early at 5:45am. So I got up and went for a run outside. In this heat that really is the best time of the day, before it gets to obnoxiously hot. I got in 3 miles and didn't see one car. I guess my body is getting used to early morning workouts when I can't even sleep in on my off days.

Measurements:
Arms - 10.75 (loss of 1 inch per arm)
Chest - 35.25 (loss of 0.75 inches. Not sure I am happy about losing inches here, but I will take the good with the bad.)
Waist - 30.5 (loss of 1 inch around the waist. Nice!!)
Hips - 38.25 (loss of 1.75 inches, Holy Wow!)
Legs - 23.5 (no loss, but it really is hard to tell if you are measuring the exact same spot on your legs. No worries, my legs definitely feel more muscular than they were a month ago.)

For a grand total of 5.5 inches in month 1. I still can't see the difference, but everyone on the team beachbody meassage boards says that is common and you start to see real results in month 2 so I am hanging in there, I am clearly doing something right, to be losing inches.

Tomorrow I will weigh in and have that to report. (I am crossing my fingers that I have finally broken 150.)

Friday, June 11, 2010

Day 26 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs

I am definitely stronger than I was 4 weeks ago. I am almost sad that this is the last time I do the Pure Cardio workout, I will miss it. Goodness what has happened to me. I actually love these workouts. I love that they push me to do more than I thought I could, and I love the feeling of completing a workout that pushes me to the max. Month 2 watch out because here I come!!!!

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Day 25 - Cardio Recovery

Oh how I have grown to dread Cardio Recovery day. Sure it is at a much slower pace than the rest of the videos, and I do enjoy all of the stretching. But I also know now that Shaun T is going to make me sit and hold squat and lunge positions until I feel like I can't anymore, and just when I don't think I can hold it anymore he wants me to pulse. Ouch. Plus even though that is the shortest of all the videos, it feels like it takes the longest because of the slow pace. I never thought I would say this but I like the fast paced craziness much better!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Day 24 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

The last couple of days I have had the hardest time getting out of bed, but I have been forcing myself, and I am always glad I did when it is over.

This workout always kicks my butt. By the end my legs are so tired. The great thing about the early morning workouts is that I feel great when they are over, knowing that the rest of the day is mine, plus I have burned off a lot of my nervous energy and I can focus better throughout the rest of the day.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Day 23 - Cardio Power & Resistance

Ahhh, the last time I do this video, at least for this round of Insanity!!! It was really hard to get out of bed this morning, but I did, and I am glad. I had my best day ever with this video. It was tough getting started, but I almost made it through the entire workout without taking any extra breaks, I sometimes can't keep up with the pace of the people in the video especially on the third round of each exercise, but I always do my best. I did have to stop the last time on the moving push-ups, but in my defense, 4 weeks ago I had never done a "man push-up". I feel good!!!!!!!!

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 22 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs

Still tough, and I still take a couple breaks but this one doesn't intimidate me like it used to!! This is the start of week 4, the last week of month one, and I feel great. I will be honest I am a little bit nervous for month 2.

I weighed in this morning and I am at 150.6 lbs. That is a loss of 1.8 lbs since last week. I am dying to get under 150, so close.

I started using the P90X recovery formula on saturday after my workout. The only thing I know so far is that it doesn't do as good of a job of curbing my appetite like my protien smoothie with fruit and milk in it does. But I am going to use it all week this week, and see if my muscles feel any better by the end of the week.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Day 20 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Feeling much better today, I think I did a little better with this workout than I did last time. Still tough though. I am officially finished with week 3, so I don't have to do anything until monday!!! But I have had a mad urge to go running this week, and the weather has not been cooperating with me, so I may just do a little running on my off day.

I can't believe I only have one more week left of Month 1!!!

Friday, June 4, 2010

Day 19 - Cardio Power and Resistance

I think this cold is killing me. I do feel a little bit better today, but this workout was tougher than usual. I hope I feel much better tomorrow, because I need all I have for the Plyometric workout!!!

What doesn't kill me will make me stronger, right?

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Day 18 - Cardio Recovery

I think I have a little summer cold. I can't get rid of the nasal congestion, and it is making my workouts much harder!!! I struggled through this one this morning, but I was grateful that it wasn't one of the faster paced videos from the other days. I will keep pushing through, I don't give up that easily.

I can't believe that I am almost done with week 3. I am already starting to get excited to see what month 2 has in store!!

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Day 17 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs

This one is tough, but each time I do these videos I find I do a little bit better. I am still a bit tired, but I can live with that. Last night was the first night that I wanted to go running since I started this. I didn't make it because of all the unpacking, but this is the first time that I have had the desire to do it. I know my cardiovascular strength is improving, so I am hoping that I may run a little faster after these 60 days are complete. I may give it a try tonight.

I weighed in this morning and I am at 152.4, which is a gain of 0.6 lbs. I am trying really hard not to get discouraged. I have lost inches in these past 2 weeks, and my body fat has decreased. I am going to start tracking the body fat percentage that my scale gives me, I am not sure how accurate it is, but it does at least follow the right trend. I was at 39+% body fat on January 1st, and on day one I was 34.5%(I think it may have been a tad higher like 34.6 or 34.9 but I didn't write it down), but today I was at 33.6% body fat, so although I am not dropping lbs, I think I may be gaining some muscle and losing some fat. My husband says that my legs look more muscular than they did 2 weeks ago.

Back from the beach

I managed to keep up with my workouts while I was gone.

Friday morning - Cardio Power and Resistance
Saturday morning - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs
Sunday - off
Monday morning - Fit Test (My mother watched me do this and saturday's workout, and after I was done with the fit test, she says, "that's it?". I think it is enough!!)
Tuesday morning - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Here are my fit test results so far. I am pretty impressed that I was able to increase in every exercise in 2 weeks, especially that I was able to almost double the amount of push-up Jacks I was able to do. I am definitely getting stronger.

Fit Test--------------------------Day 1-----Day 15
Switch Kicks (2 kicks = 1 rep)---47--------49
Power Jacks------------------------43--------52
Power Knees-----------------------81--------89
Power Jumps-----------------------26--------29
Globe Jumps (4 jumps = 1 rep)---7---------8
Suicide Jumps-----------------------9--------13
Push-up Jacks-----------------------9--------17
Low Plank Oblique-----------------30--------39

Now for the measurements:

Height - 5'4"
Arms - 11.5" (loss of 0.25")
Chest - 35.5" (loss of 0.5")
Waist - 31" (loss of 0.5")
Hips - 39" (loss of 1")
Thighs - 23.25" (loss of 0.25")

A grand total of 2.5 inches lost in 2 weeks. I will weigh in tomorrow and post that here as well. I am a little nervous about that because of this beach vacation. I did my best to eat well but it wasn't always easy!!

Day 11 - Cardio Recovery

I was looking forward to this workout today. My body was in need of the slower pace of the recovery video. It isn't easy, but not insane either. I am very aware of my muscles right now, they are not nearly as sore as they were at this time last week, but still sore.

We are headed to the beach this weekend, but I have every intention to bring my dvd's with me. There is a dvd player in the condo. Hopefully I can manage to keep my eating in check, so I won't be on here for a few days, but I will be doing my workouts and I will update with my weight and current measurements when I get back!

Day 10 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Ok, I don't know if I just didn't get enough sleep last night or if these workouts at 5 am are starting to get to me, but today was rough. I pushed through the workout, but there is something about this particular video that always leaves me struggling. I had my protien smoothie this morning and a cup of coffee, and I can't shake the nauseated feeling. Maybe I just need to eat something with a little more substance after this particular workout.

After 10 days, I am still struggling, but I don't give up that easily. I worked out with my knee brace again today, and I think that may be the key to keeping my knee from hurting because it feels good today!!!!

Day 9 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs

Ok so the Cardio abs weren't scheduled for today but I felt insanely guilty for eating Olive Garden last night even though I did my best to make a healthy choice, I still had one of those oh so yummy breadsticks and salad covered in yummy salad dressing.

Today I worked out with a knee brace on because my left knee has been bothering me. It started a few weeks ago when I was doing my hip hop abs and I felt something pull during one of the moves. Since then it was just a slight pull and it didn't start until after I ran 3 miles. But this insanity workout has it bothering me a lot more, but I must say that after working out with the knee brace on my knee feels great right now. So hopefully that is the trick!!

I love these workouts. I really feel like I am pushing myself harder than I ever have before, and I feel great!!

Day 8 - Cardio Power and Resistance

First off I must say that I enjoyed my day off yesterday. I didn't think my muscles were very sore, but I found out differently when I started this workout. They loosened up during the warm up though, so it was all good.

I keep wondering if there will come a point where the warm-up doesn't kick my butt, much less the rest of the work out. Probably my body will get used to this workout just in time to start month 2!! LOL!!

Today was weigh in day. I weighed in before my workout this morning. I weigh 151.8 lbs, this is exactly 2 lbs down from last week!!!! I was so hoping to see some results with as hard as I have been working. I have also been doing pretty good with my eating. I can't for the life of me follow a meal plan or count calories, so I have just been continuing to eat healthy and only when I am hungry.

Day 6 - Plyometic Cardio Circuit

After doing this video for the second time, I have to say that I think this is the hardest one so far. It is the only one that makes me feel nauseous by the end of it. By the end, I feel like I have pushed my legs to their breaking point. My arm/chest/shoulder muscles are still so sore that I am really struggling with the pushups, but I did the best that I could, and in time my muscles will get used to this workout.

The best thing about today's workout is that it's done and tomorrow is an off day!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Day 5 - Pure Cardio

It is not a good sign when during the stretching portion of the video, Shaun T looks at the camera and says, "I am really nervous about this workout." Ummm, Shaun lets take a good look at you and then look at me, if you are nervous, than I am terrified.

I pushed through. This was the toughest workout yet, because once you get past the stretching it is 15 minutes straight with no breaks for water. I did have to stop and take a couple of quick water breaks so that I could attempt to keep up. It makes me feel better though that at least half of the people on the video struggled with this workout also, and they took breaks too.

I am at the point today where my muscles are sore, but not so sore that I can't move. I am not walking funny today, which is a pleasant change. I feel great. I know this is going to be a long 60 days, but standing here today, I think I can do it. And this is the first time I have felt confident of that.

I am looking forward to my weigh in on monday. I am hoping to see some results on the scale. (fingers crossed)

Day 4 - Cardio Recovery

I was so happy to see that word recovery in the title of today's workout. My entire body is so sore. I am having a hard time lifting my arms over my head. If I am sitting for too long without walking, I have to take a few minutes to stretch out my calves just so that I can walk normally. It is painful to lower myself from standing to sitting. But, it is a good pain, and I try to keep reminding myself that this pain is what is going to bring results, so we will see.

The Recovery workout is a tough workout, but it is at a much slower pace than the rest of the videos. I think if I had done this one first I would have thought it was pretty tough. I will say that at no point in this video did I think Shaun T was trying to kill me like I have the past several days in the other videos.

I hate getting up at 5 am, but I am so glad when it is over that I did because now my workout is behind me and I don't have to think about it again until tomorrow.

Day 3 - Cardio Power and Resistance

I woke up this morning to my calves knotted up so bad that I could barely walk. I stretched them out really good and headed to the living room for my third insanity workout. I have to say that I am a little bit proud of myself, normally I would have skipped the workout today if I was already feeling sore, but I powered through. It is going to be a long 60 days, and I refuse to quit.

After a few minutes of the video, the pain in my calves started to go away. So far everyday, I have gone to the point where I didn't think I could go any more and Shaun T manages to make me push myself a little farther. I am starting to get used to not having free range of motion in my arms. And seriously, who knew there were so many different ways you could do push ups? It is only day 3 and I think I have done push ups 5 different ways.

I am starting to develop a love-hate relationship with these videos. They are so tough, but I really feel like I am working out harder than I ever have before. I find myself anxiously awaiting Monday morning when I weigh in again. I am dying to see some results.

Day 2 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

This was extremely tough. I was sweating before the warm up was complete. I did pretty well in the beginning, but toward the end my muscles got very fatigued and I had to take several rest breaks. By the end it was everything I could do to just pick my self up off the floor. My entire body was shaking and I was nauseated by the end of the dvd. I have never been so happy to see the cool down portion of the dvd come.

My arms are extremely tight, not sore yet but I am sure that will come. It took me over an hour again before I could lift my arms over my head. In fact to put on deoderant after my shower, I had to use one arm to hold the other one up so that I could hold it up long enough to get the deoderant on. My 3 year old wanted to be carried into the living room for me to dress her this morning, and I thought my arms were going to break. After getting the kids dressed and ready to go, I made myself a protein shake with fresh fruit in it, and then finally my body stopped shaking.

It is going to be a long 60 days.

Day 1 - The Fit Test

What I am realizing is this is going to be a long, tough 60 days. I thought I was in decent shape cardiovascularly, but I am realizing that I have a long way to go. Another thing I am relizing is that in my running, my upper body has been neglected, so my arms are not nearly as strong as my legs.

The fit test was tough. I got out of breath during the warm up. At the end of each exercise, I was ready to lay down on the floor. When it was over every muscle in my body was shaking. It took an hour after this fit test was complete for me to be able to raise my arms over my head. That certainly made my post workout shower interesting, lol.

I will be honest, I am a little scared of day 2. But no worries this fear won't get the best of me.

Getting Started

Above are my before pictures.

My starting stats:
Height - 5'4"
Weight: 153.8lbs
Arms: 11.75"
Chest: 36"
Waist: 31.5"
Hips: 40"
Thighs: 23.5"

I started out this year at 174 lbs, so I am down 20 lbs already, and I have been running since mid-february. I can run a 10 minute mile and I can maintain for up to 5 miles. Just to point out where I am starting from.

I will update my measurements every 2 weeks and when the 60 days is complete I will post after pictures.
