Day 11 - Cardio Recovery

I was looking forward to this workout today. My body was in need of the slower pace of the recovery video. It isn't easy, but not insane either. I am very aware of my muscles right now, they are not nearly as sore as they were at this time last week, but still sore.

We are headed to the beach this weekend, but I have every intention to bring my dvd's with me. There is a dvd player in the condo. Hopefully I can manage to keep my eating in check, so I won't be on here for a few days, but I will be doing my workouts and I will update with my weight and current measurements when I get back!

Day 10 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Ok, I don't know if I just didn't get enough sleep last night or if these workouts at 5 am are starting to get to me, but today was rough. I pushed through the workout, but there is something about this particular video that always leaves me struggling. I had my protien smoothie this morning and a cup of coffee, and I can't shake the nauseated feeling. Maybe I just need to eat something with a little more substance after this particular workout.

After 10 days, I am still struggling, but I don't give up that easily. I worked out with my knee brace again today, and I think that may be the key to keeping my knee from hurting because it feels good today!!!!

Day 9 - Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs

Ok so the Cardio abs weren't scheduled for today but I felt insanely guilty for eating Olive Garden last night even though I did my best to make a healthy choice, I still had one of those oh so yummy breadsticks and salad covered in yummy salad dressing.

Today I worked out with a knee brace on because my left knee has been bothering me. It started a few weeks ago when I was doing my hip hop abs and I felt something pull during one of the moves. Since then it was just a slight pull and it didn't start until after I ran 3 miles. But this insanity workout has it bothering me a lot more, but I must say that after working out with the knee brace on my knee feels great right now. So hopefully that is the trick!!

I love these workouts. I really feel like I am pushing myself harder than I ever have before, and I feel great!!

Day 8 - Cardio Power and Resistance

First off I must say that I enjoyed my day off yesterday. I didn't think my muscles were very sore, but I found out differently when I started this workout. They loosened up during the warm up though, so it was all good.

I keep wondering if there will come a point where the warm-up doesn't kick my butt, much less the rest of the work out. Probably my body will get used to this workout just in time to start month 2!! LOL!!

Today was weigh in day. I weighed in before my workout this morning. I weigh 151.8 lbs, this is exactly 2 lbs down from last week!!!! I was so hoping to see some results with as hard as I have been working. I have also been doing pretty good with my eating. I can't for the life of me follow a meal plan or count calories, so I have just been continuing to eat healthy and only when I am hungry.

Day 6 - Plyometic Cardio Circuit

After doing this video for the second time, I have to say that I think this is the hardest one so far. It is the only one that makes me feel nauseous by the end of it. By the end, I feel like I have pushed my legs to their breaking point. My arm/chest/shoulder muscles are still so sore that I am really struggling with the pushups, but I did the best that I could, and in time my muscles will get used to this workout.

The best thing about today's workout is that it's done and tomorrow is an off day!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Day 5 - Pure Cardio

It is not a good sign when during the stretching portion of the video, Shaun T looks at the camera and says, "I am really nervous about this workout." Ummm, Shaun lets take a good look at you and then look at me, if you are nervous, than I am terrified.

I pushed through. This was the toughest workout yet, because once you get past the stretching it is 15 minutes straight with no breaks for water. I did have to stop and take a couple of quick water breaks so that I could attempt to keep up. It makes me feel better though that at least half of the people on the video struggled with this workout also, and they took breaks too.

I am at the point today where my muscles are sore, but not so sore that I can't move. I am not walking funny today, which is a pleasant change. I feel great. I know this is going to be a long 60 days, but standing here today, I think I can do it. And this is the first time I have felt confident of that.

I am looking forward to my weigh in on monday. I am hoping to see some results on the scale. (fingers crossed)

Day 4 - Cardio Recovery

I was so happy to see that word recovery in the title of today's workout. My entire body is so sore. I am having a hard time lifting my arms over my head. If I am sitting for too long without walking, I have to take a few minutes to stretch out my calves just so that I can walk normally. It is painful to lower myself from standing to sitting. But, it is a good pain, and I try to keep reminding myself that this pain is what is going to bring results, so we will see.

The Recovery workout is a tough workout, but it is at a much slower pace than the rest of the videos. I think if I had done this one first I would have thought it was pretty tough. I will say that at no point in this video did I think Shaun T was trying to kill me like I have the past several days in the other videos.

I hate getting up at 5 am, but I am so glad when it is over that I did because now my workout is behind me and I don't have to think about it again until tomorrow.

Day 3 - Cardio Power and Resistance

I woke up this morning to my calves knotted up so bad that I could barely walk. I stretched them out really good and headed to the living room for my third insanity workout. I have to say that I am a little bit proud of myself, normally I would have skipped the workout today if I was already feeling sore, but I powered through. It is going to be a long 60 days, and I refuse to quit.

After a few minutes of the video, the pain in my calves started to go away. So far everyday, I have gone to the point where I didn't think I could go any more and Shaun T manages to make me push myself a little farther. I am starting to get used to not having free range of motion in my arms. And seriously, who knew there were so many different ways you could do push ups? It is only day 3 and I think I have done push ups 5 different ways.

I am starting to develop a love-hate relationship with these videos. They are so tough, but I really feel like I am working out harder than I ever have before. I find myself anxiously awaiting Monday morning when I weigh in again. I am dying to see some results.

Day 2 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit

This was extremely tough. I was sweating before the warm up was complete. I did pretty well in the beginning, but toward the end my muscles got very fatigued and I had to take several rest breaks. By the end it was everything I could do to just pick my self up off the floor. My entire body was shaking and I was nauseated by the end of the dvd. I have never been so happy to see the cool down portion of the dvd come.

My arms are extremely tight, not sore yet but I am sure that will come. It took me over an hour again before I could lift my arms over my head. In fact to put on deoderant after my shower, I had to use one arm to hold the other one up so that I could hold it up long enough to get the deoderant on. My 3 year old wanted to be carried into the living room for me to dress her this morning, and I thought my arms were going to break. After getting the kids dressed and ready to go, I made myself a protein shake with fresh fruit in it, and then finally my body stopped shaking.

It is going to be a long 60 days.

Day 1 - The Fit Test

What I am realizing is this is going to be a long, tough 60 days. I thought I was in decent shape cardiovascularly, but I am realizing that I have a long way to go. Another thing I am relizing is that in my running, my upper body has been neglected, so my arms are not nearly as strong as my legs.

The fit test was tough. I got out of breath during the warm up. At the end of each exercise, I was ready to lay down on the floor. When it was over every muscle in my body was shaking. It took an hour after this fit test was complete for me to be able to raise my arms over my head. That certainly made my post workout shower interesting, lol.

I will be honest, I am a little scared of day 2. But no worries this fear won't get the best of me.

Getting Started

Above are my before pictures.

My starting stats:
